Hi, I'm Kayla!

Like many people, I always dreamed of working with animals. When that path felt out of reach, I pursued a degree in psychology. At 20, I got my first dog, Zara. She was a handful, but I was determined to take her everywhere with me. That journey ignited my passion for training and deepened the bond between us. I became hungry to learn more, not just for myself, but so I could help others achieve the same companionship. I ended up graduating with my bachelors degree two and a half years early so I could pursue dog training full time.

For two years, I had the privilege of working under a retired police K9 handler, where I learned extensively about dog behavior, psychology, and obedience. I worked with a wide range of dogs, each one humbling me and teaching me something new. My experience spans from addressing barrier aggression, human and dog aggression and reactivity, to puppies and teaching basic manners and obedience.

My approach looks at the whole dog: their breed, how much exercise they get, their mindset, their relationship with you, and the environment they live in. For me, training goes beyond obedience commands. What matters most is creating clarity, showing your dog the behaviors we do want while fairly addressing the ones we don’t, providing them with structure and boundaries, shaping a healthy mindset, and meeting their physical and biological needs. This approach reduces stress, builds trust, and ultimately leads to a stronger relationship and greater freedom and fulfillment.

My ultimate goal is to give you and your dog the tools to thrive together in everyday life. Whether that’s enjoying a peaceful walk, welcoming guests politely, or adventuring with confidence, training should create freedom - not restrictions. By working with the whole dog and guiding you through the process, I help build balanced, stable companions and stronger, more meaningful relationships.
